Divinity: Original Sin Global Chat Turned Off Due to Abuse

With the launch of Divinity: Original Sin came a vast amount of players and a Global Chat featuring enabling players to chat with anyone else playing. A few days later - the Global Chat feature was turned off due to abusive language. Larian's Swen Vincke told Kotaku:

"We switched it off for now as there was just a bit too much profanity and insulting," Larian's Swen Vincke wrote, "and while we have good hopes that it may get better if people read this this, we'll also install some proper moderation tools & processes. Once that's done, we'll switch it on again."

So for those wondering about this - there you have it! People kept insulting others too much for it to serve its desired purpose of letting gamers help one another and generally chat about the game. Larian stated they would likely turn it back on once the massive amounts of people playing simultaneously shrinks.
